Breakfast. 07:00 AM We pick you up from your hotel and drive to the port of Puno to board our speed boat towards to the highlights of the Lake Titicaca. First, we will visit the floating islands of the Uros. (10 minutes trip approx.); the Uros people are an ancestral village that lives in small towns communities in the middle of the highest navigable lake of the world. Your guide will give you more details of the way of life of the inhabitants and also enjoy free time for pictures.

After this visit we return to our boat and head towards to Taquile Island (1 hour and 15 minutes of travel approx.). Arrival at the port and we start to walk up (Approximately 40 minutes) towards to the village and its plaza. In 2005, Taquile Island and its textile art were declared an Intangible Heritage of Humanity

The people of Taquile were relatively isolated from the mainland until the 1950s, and the notion of community is still very strong among them. This is reflected in the organization of community life and in collective decision-making. The weaving tradition on the island goes back to the ancient Inca, Pukara and Colla civilizations, thus keeping alive aspects of pre-Hispanic Andean cultures.

We will walk around its Plaza and Church, its traditional streets and enjoy a cultural activity where you will learn more about the high quality of the textiles.

Then we’ll continue to one of the village restaurants for a traditional lunch. After lunch we’ll walk back to our boat and start the return to Puno.

Giardino was recommended by a friend, and even though I had booked some hotels on my own, they managed to work around it, and provide us a wonderful experience from Paracas, Nazca, Ica, Huacachina to Puno. The guide Luis Angel was very knowledgeable, answered every question, and went over and beyond his duties to make the tour an unforgettable time in Perú.

We had a fun and educational private Colca Valley tour and road trips with Ramiro (guide) and Herbert (driver) from Giardino Tours. They picked us up from the Arequipa airport, took us to our accommodations at Colca Lodge, took us on a beautiful hike to the isolated Chimpa Fortress... We are glad the agency we engaged to plan our Peru adventure chose Giardino Tours for this part of the trip!

We traveled in Peru with having all of our trip booked through the Giardino travel agency. Karla helped us with the planning and booked the trip, the individual tours and our flights. The price for the tour overall was very reasonable... The guides were fantastic and were the best part about doing these tours. They were knowledgeable and had some of the best recommendations for us to do
