Explore the Colca valley; as few people can do; is a 3 days excursion designed for travelers who would like to explore something more of the classic tours to the Colca valley. Those travelers that enjoy sharing activities with local people, short optional hikes, visit to traditional no tourist towns or to have some adrenaline shot doing zip line in Colca Valley, etc. Our excursion with take you through the Colca long route toward to the valley, you will explore the Colca valley and canyon with all its highlights, have optional activities, and finish the experience in the city of Puno on Lake Titicaca, having a previous visit to the enigmatic “Chulpas of Sillustani” on the route.
*All optional activities during the tour are flexible; we know “it is your trip”.

Day 1: Pampa Cañahuas – The Window view point – Town of Callalli and Sibayo – Hot springs.
Our departure will be at 7:30 am from Arequipa, driving around 190 km to the town of Coporaque. At the beginning of our excursion we will enjoy the majestic views of the Misti, Chachani and PichuPichu volcanoes before approaching the National Reserve of “Pampa Cañahuas”, where our vehicle will make a short stop to observe the wild vicuñas (one of the 4 types of South American camelids) in its natural habitat. At this point we will be about 3,400 meters above sea level.
We keep driving forward to the upper part of the valley observing in our journey the natural scenery formed by different lakes and have a over view of the place from La Ventana (a rock formation called: the Window). – On the route we will have many stops for pictures and enjoy the surrounding.
After this visit we return to our transport and continue with our excursion observing on the route huge rock formations called “Los Castillos de Callalli” (The Callalli’s castles).
We will arrive to the traditional town of Callalli; with its charming plaza and a wonderful view of the Mount Torreqaqa (Stone Mountain) or Saya Saya, which can be seen from anywhere in the village.
We’ll make a short visit of the town and then keep driving until we reach the town of Sibayo, located in the upper part of Colca, 3,850 meters above sea level.
Its name in Quechua language is Rumillaqta, which means “city of stone,” as nearly all of its streets, houses and churches are made from this material, making it one of the prettiest towns in the valley.
In Sibayo town we will have our lunch with a local family (Time for sharing, learn above daily activities etc.) and enjoy the Sibayo cuisine.
After Lunch we will have time for visit the Plaza and surroundings. We take again our transportation and drive to the town of Coporaque on the right side of the Valley, where our Lodge is located.
Lunch in the lodge (Not included in program).
In the afternoon we will have a walk down to our hot springs (The walk is an optional activity / transport will be offered for clients that not feel to walk).
After a relaxing bath we will drive back to our lodge.

Day 2: Cruz del Condor – Optional activities.
We will have our breakfast very early in the morning and leave to the famous “Cruz del Condor” point. Arrive at “Cruz del Condor” and have enough time enjoy the deep view of the Canyon and if weather permits; majestic pictures of the flight of the condors.
After a coordinated time, our guide will take you for a short walk near the Canyon (1 hour aprox.) On the way back to Chivay we’re going to visit the traditional village of Pinchollo and the “Antahuilque viewpoint”, where wonderful 1,500 year old terraces, constructed by the Collaguas, a culture well before the Incas’ time, can be observed.
We also will make a stop at the look-out point of “Choquetico” with its hanging tombs “Tumbas colgantes“, and take a look to the litomaqueta, a model of the canyon terraces carved in a rock.
We then continue our excursion visiting Maca, an Andean community that experienced an earthquake in November of 1991, the village of Yanque with the most beautiful church in the valley and the town of Chivay, capital of the Caylloma province ( time for exploring and pictures).
Return to your Lodge in Coporaque for lunch.
After lunch we will, have 3 options for our afternoon in the valley.
Option 1: Share an afternoon with a local villager. We cannot exactly define what this day will look like as it depends on the season and weekday. However, the normal activities – amongst others- include support in the fields, herding animals, the preparation of land for sowing, and/or harvesting.
Option 2: Zip line Colca canyon. We will drive you to the Town of Chivay where you can have this experience according to the level that you will prefer. (Price of activity no included).
Options 3: Free afternoon for personal activities, walking around the town and valley, relaxing, etc.
After finish your activities we will drive you back to your Lodge.
Day 3: Colca canyon – Stop at Chullpas of Sillustani – Puno city.
Breakfast at 07:00 am. Today we’ll drive toward to Puno city on Lake Titicaca. On the route some stops for pictures will be make, like for example at the Lagunillas Lagoons, where if we are lucky maybe get some pictures of Andean Flamingos and Andean Duck and birds.
When we are getting close to the city of Puno we will make a detour to visit the interesting area of “Chullpas of Sillustani” (guide and entrances are not included).
Here in Sillustani, the “Collas” (a pre-inca culture) buried their nobility in chullpas (funerary towers), which can be seen scattered widely around the hilltops of the region. Some of these towers reach a height of 12m. And is partially encircled by the sparkling Lago Umayo (3890m), which is home to a wide variety of plants and Andean water birds.
We will arrive in the city of Puno around 14:00 hrs.
